When I was a child, our family needed help, and if it weren’t for the kindness and generosity of others, I would not be where I am today.
My journey to where I am today was paved with challenges and the unwavering strength of the woman I call my hero – my mother. As a child, we knew the uncertainty of sleeping in cars and the temporary refuge of secret shelters as we escaped an abusive father. My mother’s resilience and our unwavering faith in Jesus guided us through our darkest times.
I remember the nights together in shelters, her whispered stories transforming our fears into adventures. Her strength was our sanctuary.
Even in the depths of our struggles, I never felt sad. The shelters we turned to were more than just roofs over our heads; they were havens of kindness, where laughter and play lightened our hearts, and the warmth of community embraced us. Now, because Jesus put the right people in our lives, I am in a position to help others in similar situations.
